IE Sustainability Datathon is a challenge in which participants must solve a sustainability problem with the use of predictive modelling. The competition provides the practical application of Business Analytics, Data Science or Tech to solve a sustainability challenge within a real company.

Ryanair stands as Europe's greenest and cleanest airline, embodying an unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. Their dedicated Sustainability Roadmap serves as a strategic guide, propelling the airline industry towards heightened environmental responsibility. In alignment with all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, Ryanair exemplifies a commitment to comprehensive sustainability across the spectrum of economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
During the IE Sustainability Datathon in partnership with Ryanair, students will be immersed in a compelling challenge aimed at minimizing waste and maximizing sales. Their task involves crafting a model to accurately predict the number of items that will be sold for each product on every flight, precisely 10 days prior to departure. This real-world scenario aligns seamlessly with Ryanair's commitment to environmental sustainability, as it addresses the crucial intersection of reducing waste and optimizing resource efficiency within the airline industry.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT THE PREDICTIVE MODEL
CLOSING EVENT, ANNOUNCEMENT OF FINALISTS, PRESENTATIONS AND AWARDS
To participate, you must submit a team of 4 - 5 members.
You will have access to exclusive resources, mentoring sessions and webinars to help you build the best possible solution to the problem proposed.
All teams must submit their solution before the deadline, on March 1st, 2024 at 12:00.
Finalists will have the chance to present their project to our partners and sponsors at the Closing Event.
After the event, key findings will be published in a visioning report and shared with experts and policymakers.
